Kalso Earth Shoes Review and Giveaway

The tagline for this blog as always been "one mom's journey toward a healthier existence" and that's still the goal today. Every day, I am working to make every aspect of my life healthy.

So why not make my shoes healthier? That may sound crazy to you, but the shoes you wear (and how you treat your feet!) make a huge difference in your overall health.

Kalso Earth shoes are known as "wellness shoes" because they employ a negative heel to simulate the yoga "mountain pose" position, shifting the weight of your body over your frame.

This position improves your posture, reduces stress on your joints, and mimics walking barefoot in sand. Apparently, it also causes you to burn more calories while walking, but that shouldn't be your main concern.

Any good doctor will tell you that shoes need to fit your feet, have adequate support, and allow your muscles/joints to move naturally.

That's why you'll find me in running shoes or barefoot most of the time. But I am always on the hunt for what I call "running sandals."

I consider the Implicit Sandals to be running sandals. That means, sandals you can walk for a long distance in, hike through trails, or run if you absolutely had to. Not "running for exercise" but running because you're on a trail and  you see a bear.

What did I think of the Kalso Earth Sandals? They're pretty awesome. Number one, they are made of high quality materials. They are meant to last and be used. My sandals were made of leather and fit wonderfully.

They are made for an active lifestyle. You can definitely enjoy the sun in these sandals and walk for hours at the beach or at the county fair, or go for a bike ride or any other active event because they strap in two places and stay on!

I was surprised at first when I put them on. You can definitely sense the negative heel, and I could see how that might activate your hamstring muscles more than normal. But after I got used to the difference, it was really no big deal.

I really like these sandals, and I think you would too. Kalso Earth makes a variety of cute shoes - from athletic shoes, sandals, wedges, to boots!
